About the Role
Reporting to the Mine Scheduling Superintendent, as the Principal Mining Engineer/Scheduling - SRF at BMA Caval Ridge Mine you will be responsible for the completion and optimisation of the 3 Month to 2 Year schedule and ensure delivery against business targets and supply chain demands. This role will enable you to improve the productivity and alignment on operational activities as well as challenging plan inputs to drive benchmark performance. The plans you develop will be used by senior leadership to drive decision making and ensure alignment to overall business strategy and commitments. This role requires you to develop effective working relationships with the operational and mine planning teams to ensure the efficient execution of the schedule. As a senior member of the Mine Scheduling team at Caval Ridge, your experience and knowledge will guide decision making and develop the wider team’s business acumen. The position is based at BMA Caval Ridge Mine with a roster of 4/3 and offers FIFO / DIDO travel arrangements. Flexible working arrangements are available for the right candidate.
Your responsibilities:
- Completion of monthly forecasts of the mine schedule ranging from 3 months to 2 years dependent on the planning cycle, including formulation of the budget plan.
- Review and optimisation of planning related inputs.
- Completion of schedule related outputs and presentation of outcomes to relevant stakeholders.
- Providing advice on optimisation of equipment strategy, infrastructure plan and overall pit layout.
- Developing strong working relationships with operational teams and mine planning functions.
About You
You will have a tertiary education in Engineering (Mining/Civil) and at least 5 years’ experience in mine planning at coal mining operations. You will have previous experience in a scheduling-based role as well as experience across multiple disciplines of mine planning with a deep understanding of production processes. You have strong communication and interpersonal skills allowing you to build relationships across departments and to communicate with disciplines at all levels. You can operate in a fast-paced environment and manage demands of multiple stakeholders. A strong working knowledge of Deswik and SPRY is essential.
